For a holiday "away from it all" The seashell is in ideal location. Luskentyre Beach recently featured in Travel Magazine and described as "heart racingly beautiful and often empty"
Here in the Western Isles (also known as the Outer Hebrides) the landscape and history of Harris, together with the hospitality of its people provide a wonderful escape from the pressures of modern life. With luck you may even see otters, seals, eagles or dolphins. Deer tend to keep to the high ground during the summer, but sometimes you can see them near Ardhasaig and Ardvoulie along the main road from Tarbert to Stornoway. In the summer months there are many colourful wild flowers to be seen on the machair.
The seashell is situated in the picturesque village of Luskentyre on the edge of the Atlantic. The house stands overlooking the spectacular Luskentyre Beach, which is only a stones throw away. The house is comfortable well equipped, and furnished to a high standard.
The house has a spacious garden to the front and rear where you can relax and enjoy the changeable weather and astounding scenery.
Luskentyre is a haven for birdwatchers and walkers with a variety of scenery from empty beaches to rocky inlets. It overlooks the Isle of Taransay and the moonscape mountains of North Harris. There are several lochs close by for trout and salmon fishing. For those who enjoy golf, nearby Scarista has a 9-hole golf course overlooking the sea. It's a peaceful location for relaxing and for family holidays.
